Neechbhanga and Vipreet Rajyoga: Conditions for Formation

Neechbhang Rajyoga and Vipreet Rajyoga are unique combinations of astrology that can sometimes transform adverse results from the placing of planets into positive outcomes. Formation depends on specific conditions, making its occurrence less common than their definition would suggest. Let us see these conditions in this post.

Neechbhang Rajyoga

As per its prevalent definition, Neechbhang Rajyoga is formed when the debilitation status of a planet in debilitation is canceled. The Rajyoga is formed only if any of the following conditions are met.

  • If the lord of the sign of debilitation of a planet is placed with the debilitated planet or it aspects the debilitated planet in a horoscope.
  • If a debilitated planet is placed with an exalted planet in a horoscope.
  • If two debilitated planets are placed in the seventh sign with respect to each other and they aspect each other.
  • If the lord of the sign of debilitation of a debilitated planet is either placed in a Kendra house in the horoscope or exalted.
  • If the lord of the sign of exaltation of a debilitated planet is placed in a central house of a horoscope or exalted.
  • If a debilitated planet becomes Vargottama in a horoscope or occupies the same sign in the birth chart as well as in the navamsha chart.

This indicates that Rajyoga may be found in every second horoscope. But this does not hold good in reality. The placement of a debilitated planet with an exalted planet or with the lord of its sign of debilitation may form Neechbhang Rajyoga only under specific conditions.

This leaves us with two possibilities: placement of a debilitated planet with the lord of its sign of debilitation and with an exalted planet. These placements may form Neechbhang Rajyoga if both the planets involved are beneficial.

Vipreet Rajyoga

As per its prevalent definition, Vipreet Rajyoga is formed if the lord of the sixth, eighth, and twelfth house is placed in any one of the other two houses of the horoscope. So if the lord of the sixth house is placed in the eighth, sixth, or twelfth house and the lord is placed in the other house, Vipreet Rajyoga is formed.

As per its specific definition, the probability of the formation of Vipreet Rajyoga is 6 in 12, but this seems difficult to hold in real life. Hence, certain conditions must be met to form this Rajyoga.

  • Benefic yogas are generally formed by benefic planets, but Vipreet Rajyoga is formed due to malefic planets placed in adverse circumstances. Hence, the planets involved should be malefic for the formation of Vipreet Rajyoga.
  • The overall theme of the horoscope has the potential to turn benefic planets into malefic planets and vice versa. Hence, the overall theme should be supportive of the formation of Vipreet Rajyoga.
  • The horoscope should be strong enough to handle the energy of the sixth, eighth, and twelfth house for the formation of Harsha, Sarala, and Vimala Yoga, which are the three types of Vipreet Rajyoga.

To Conclude

As can be derived, both Neechbhang Rajyoga and Vipreet Rajyoga are conditional when their definitions appear to be very broad. The subtleties of these aspects are indispensable for the correct analysis of a horoscope.
